The Indo-American Cultural Foundation of Central New Jersey (IACFNJ) recently celebrated India’s 69th Independence Day.
About 200 people attended the celebration at the Shree Swaminarayan Temple on Culver Road in the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.
It included traditional food, music and dances.

South Brunswick Mayor Frank Gambatese, Deputy Mayor Chris Killmurray, Councilman Charles Carley, state Senate President Steven Sweeney and the Commissioner of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and former State Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula were among those in attendance, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization.
