Rabid Raccoon Found At Dog Park In South Brunswick

An ill raccoon found at the Rocky Top Dog Park has tested positive for rabies, officials said. The raccoon came in contact with dogs.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — An ill raccoon found at the Rocky Top Dog Park has tested positive for rabies, township officials said.

On Dec. 29, an ill raccoon was found at the dog park after it came in contact with an owner’s dogs. The raccoon was tested and found to be positive for rabies.

Township officials have advised residents to be alert of any wildlife at and near the Rocky Top Dog Park. Do not approach any wild animals and keep pets away from them.

If a pet comes in contact with a wild animal, contact the South Brunswick Police and request assistance from the Animal Control Officer.
