Reichler Park Softball Field Lights Targeted for Fall Completion
Township softball fields getting upgrade to allow night games.

The township's growing softball program will soon be able to add night games to their schedules.
The South Brunswick Township Council is expected to award a bid at Tuesday night's meeting for the installation of lights at the Reichler Park softball fields. With the increasing popularity of the South Brunswick girls softball program, the project will allow night games at the park for the first time.
"We have about 400 to 500 girls in the program and their fields have never been updated," said Mayor Frank Gambatese earlier this year. "This goes a long way towards upgrading their fields."

"With the lights at Reichler Park, there has been more girls getting involved in the softball program over the last couple of years, so this allows that program to expand further with more options for the girls’ teams," said Public Affairs Coordinator Ron Schmalz.
Schmalz said the project is expected to be completed by the fall.
