Despite the school district facing state aid cuts, Feder assured the community that security will not be compromised.
“I know you have all heard about our budget situation, but I want to say this loud and clear – we will not compromise safety in any way as we work through this year’s budget,” Feder said.
“In fact. I remain committed to adding security measures wherever possible.”
Retired East Brunswick Chief of Police James Conroy was hired a few years ago by the school district and now serves as the full-time District Safety and Compliance Officer, Feder told the community.
“Our district has a comprehensive safety plan that includes regular drills, security cameras, and trained security personnel. Be mindful that our staff is fully versed on all safety protocols and drills that take place which we practice on a monthly basis,” Feder said.
The district said they have added to their security measures over the past few years with security guards who are former members of law enforcement and continue to work with the local police department.
Feder said the district will remain vigilant and will continue to improve security and safety measures.
