Rt. 130 Accident In South Brunswick Turns Fatal
A woman was killed in a car crash on Rt. 130 at Distribution Way and Georges Road at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A car accident on Rt. 130 in South Brunswick Wednesday, which police initially called "very serious," has turned out to be fatal.
The accident occurred at Rt. 130 and Distribution Way and it claimed the life of one woman. South Brunswick police are looking for any witnesses who may have seen the crash today.
The crash took place at 1:06 p.m. and involved two cars, a Volkswagon Jetta and Lexus. Preliminary indications are that the Volkswagen was headed southbound and the Lexus was heading northbound prior to the collision in the intersection.

The woman's name will not be released until all of her next of kin are notified, said South Brunswick police.
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital EMS, along with Monroe EMS, transported two people from the crash to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. One driver, the woman, was pronounced dead and the other has serious injuries.

Rt. 130 south was closed for three hours as accident investigators pieced the scene together. The highway was reopened just after 4 p.m.

Also, in an unrelated accident there is currently a tractor trailer wedged under a bridge on Deans Lane about a mile away, police said. Police advised that Deans Lane may be shut down as well, to deal with that.
