South Brunswick COVID Cases Continue To Decline 'Significantly'

The number of COVID-19 cases has dropped in South Brunswick, and more residents are getting vaccinated, said officials.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The number of positive COVID-19 cases in South Brunswick has declined “significantly” over the previous week, health officials said.

This past week, 29 residents testing positive for the virus, and one COVID-19 related death was reported.

For the week of April 18 to 24, 14 women and 15 men tested positive for COVID-19, with eight being under the age of 18.

With 73 percent of the township’s adult population receiving at least the first dose of the COVID vaccine, officials said they expect the number of COVID-19 cases to fall further in the coming weeks.

However, officials have asked residents to remain vigilant.

“Although the State is loosening restrictions and our numbers are improving, we still need to continue to take precautions to make sure that those residents who are at-risk or unvaccinated are protected as well,” officials said.

As of last week, all residents aged 16 and older who live, work, or study in New Jersey are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
