South Brunswick Grapples With Storm Cleanup: Trees Still Down
Eight roads in town are still closed due to fallen trees and traffic lights are out at several major intersections.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Like most of New Jersey, South Brunswick is grappling with the aftermath of tropical storm Isaias Wednesday morning, with eight roads in town still closed due to fallen trees and traffic lights out at several major intersections.
About 200 South Brunswick homes still are without power as of 10 a.m. Wednesday. (It was 2,000 homes Tuesday night.)
Also, overnight South Brunswick fire departments were called to a number of homes with high carbon monoxide levels because of generators being used improperly. One woman in her 60s is hospitalized from her exposure. Be aware of where you are using your generators and DO NOT USE generators indoors, said police.
