South Brunswick To Honor Veteran With Street Dedication On Saturday

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A local veteran will be honored by the Township, as they will rename a street in his honor.

On Saturday, July 1, South Brunswick will hold a Veteran Street Sign Dedication Ceremony at the intersection of Old Ridge Road, Ridge Road and Kara Boulevard, to honor local Veteran Kenneth Kersch.
This is the latest in a series of street naming dedications by the township where they honor local veterans for their service to the nation.

Kersch enlisted into the US Navy in 1966 and attended Boot Camp in Illinois at Great Lakes before reporting to the USS Simon Lake, AS-33, a Polaris submarine tender.

He was a Machinery Repairman Third Class, making parts for repairing destroyers. Kersch served in the United States Navy, until his Honorable discharge in October 1969 with outstanding leadership and courage receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, and the Navy Unit Commendation.

The ceremony is scheduled to be held at 11 a.m.
