South Brunswick To Increase Non-Residential Unit Water, Sewer Connection Fee
The last time an analysis of the charges was made was back in 2019, officials said.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – South Brunswick will be introducing an ordinance to increase the connection fees for water and sewer utilities for non-residential units.
According to officials, the township code requires South Brunswick to do an analysis every year to determine what the facility charge would be for non-residential connections.
The last time it was done was in 2019.

A township official then “did the analysis in the manner in which it is supposed to be done” and provided the council with an updated ordinance to increase the water and sewer facility charges.
The calculations are based on the number of units, the gallons used and it’s compared to what the debt service is and what the town pays.

Water connection cost is still low.
Councilman Ken Bierman said despite the revised amount, the connection costs were still low in town. “I really don’t think it went up enough,” Bierman said.
The first reading of the ordinance is scheduled for Sept. 26.
