South Brunswick Police Raise Over 15K For Special Olympics
Officers and staff raised over $15,000 during the 38th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run on Friday.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick police officers participated in the 38th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run on Friday.
The torch run was to help raise money for the New Jersey Special Olympics. Officers and staff raised over $15,000 by running over nine miles on highways and roads around town.
The participants also ran with students at South Brunswick High School, Monmouth Junction Elementary School, and Crossroads South Middle School.

The NJ Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The mission is to give them the continuing opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families and the community.
“The 21 officers and staff who ran today exemplify the best of who we are and our deep commitment to our community,” the Police department said in a statement.
