WEATHER ALERT: Teen Critically Injured On Slick, Weather-Beaten Roads
The Sayreville man remains hospitalized in critical condition - the second serious incident in N.J. that police say was weather-related.

A 19-year-old man suffered critical injuries in a weather-related crash this weekend - the second serious accident to happen in New Jersey that police are saying is weather related.
John Thasites, 19, of Sayreville was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with life-threatening injuries early Saturday morning, police said.
The incident happened during the same weekend when temperatures sank to their lowest levels since 2004. In Ocean County, a 66-year-old New Jersey woman was found dead in the snow near a neighbor’s car.

He was driving a 1993 Mercedes Benz 300 east when the car slide sideways into the westbound lane, and collided with an oncoming 2014 Honda Pilot, police said.
The Honda, driven by Matthew Brandt, 27, of South Brunswick, broadsided the Mercedes, police said.
After about 20 minutes, the Monmouth Junction Fire Department was able to extricate Thasites from the car.
The road was closed for about four hours as police investigated the crash, which they said occurred in blizzard-like conditions.
