SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick is asking residents to prepare for Tropical Storm Fay, expected to hit at mid-afternoon Friday.
South Brunswick police are already directing patrols to monitor areas known to flood: Rt. 1 by Raymond Road, Rt. 27 by Stillwell Road and Rt. 1 by Dow Jones.
Residents are asked to avoid those areas Friday afternoon, as they will likely flood, and not to drive through flooded roads.

The storm is currently over Atlantic County Friday morning and is moving north: This light rain will become steadier and heavier with the main threat for flooding developing around midday.
Prepare for tropical storm-force winds of 30-40 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Tie down anything that can be blown away.

1-3 inches of rainfall is expected. And a flash flood watch is in effect: Areas that usually flood will do later this afternoon and evening.
Around sunset, rain will turn more intermittent, but can still be heavy at times into the evening, before it lifts well to the north.
