South Brunswick Schools Go Remote Thursday Due To Winter Storm

Thursday will be a remote instruction with early release day for students across the district.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick School District will be going remote on Thursday due to the upcoming winter storm, school superintendent Scott Feder said in an email to the school community.

“I find it best for the safety of all students and staff to have tomorrow be an all virtual early release day,” Feder said.

Thursday will be full remote instruction with early release day for students across the district.

“By having a virtual early release day, we will still be able to get a day of learning in and give families the opportunity to make some fun memories enjoying the snow in the afternoon,” Feder said.

The superintendent said he hoped things will clear up by Thursday evening, to allow schools to reopen on Friday.

“I will be sure to send out a robocall and post on the district website if anything should change for Friday,” he said.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for 17 New Jersey counties, including Middlesex, saying that snow and sleet accumulations could bring anywhere from 3 to 8 inches across the state.

The storm could be a combined snow and ice storm, and could knock down wires causing power outages, according to the National Weather Service.
