South Brunswick Schools, Library Closed ,Trash & Recycling Suspended As Blizzard Hits NJ
Here's what residents need to know during and after Monday's storm:
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick School District will be closed Monday due to inclement weather.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency as the storm moved into the state, with 21 counties under a blizzard warning. The National Weather Service forecast 10 to 20 inches of snow, with the heaviest snowfall expected Sunday night into Monday morning. Wind gusts in coastal counties could reach 55 mph, with snowfall rates possibly exceeding 2 inches per hour.

The South Brunswick Public Library is closed Monday and the Mobile Branch has been taken off the road for the duration of the storm.
Republic Services has canceled all trash and recycling collection Monday, Feb. 23. Residents are asked to keep cans and bags off and away from roadways until snowfall has stopped and roads have been fully cleared. Collections are expected to resume Tuesday, though delays are anticipated for the remainder of the week. Residents with questions can contact Public Works at (732) 329-4000, ext. 7260.

Township Public Works crews will be plowing throughout the storm. Residents are asked to remove vehicles from roadways to allow crews full curb-to-curb access and to refrain from shoveling snow back into the street. Sidewalks should be cleared within 24 hours after snowfall ends. Residents are also asked to clear snow from around fire hydrants to assist the Fire Department in the event of an emergency.
Officials are strongly advising residents to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly overnight and into Monday morning. Those who must travel are urged to use extreme caution.
