South Brunswick Seeks To Increase Water, Sewer Utility Fees
Officials are expected to introduce the ordinance during the next Council meeting on June 27.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The township is proposing an ordinance that will increase the fees for water and sewer utilities.
During the last Council meeting, a discussion was held on the proposed ordinance that officials expect to introduce on June 27.
According to officials, the fees are being updated to keep up with rising prices and cover the costs to the township.

“In general, this is an ordinance that basically updates the fees that the utility department charges users for the various services in regard to both water and sewer, turn off turn offs, installations, readings, testing meters, etc.,” explained Municipal Manager Bryan Bidlack.
“This is just a general recommendation from the utility director to update our fees to cover the cost to the township.”

Officials said the ordinance was updated around five years ago. Since then, there has been a pandemic and inflation.
The new fees will be at par with recent increases in neighboring towns, officials said.
More details on the fee structure will be available when the ordinance is introduced at the next council meeting.
