South Brunswick Teen Elected National Curator
Vittoria Flick, 16, of Dayton, Elected National Curator

The National Convention for the Children of the American Revolution was held on April 17-19, 2015 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel, Virginia, (near Washington, DC). Vittoria Flick, 16, of Dayton, New Jersey, served this past year as National Information Technology Chairman and has been a member of the Morven Society in Princeton, New Jersey for the past 16 years. Ms. Flick attended the convention as a voting state delegate and a candidate for the office of National Curator. During the convention, National Officers for the 2015–2016 C.A.R. year were elected, were Vittoria Flick was elected to the office of National Curator. Also at the convention reports of State Presidents and National Chairmen were given, local society awards were made, and the Nation’s Outstanding C.A.R. Society for this year was announced. Convention activities also included a candidates’ campaign party, the Awards Banquet and dance, and a party honoring the outgoing National President.
Ms. Flick and the other newly elected National Officers as well as State and Senior State Presidents were installed at ceremonies at Mount Vernon following a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of George and Martha Washington. The Annual Pilgrimage included a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the American Revolution at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria, Virginia.
Ms. Flick looks forward to serving the National Society as National Curator. “I look forward to working on the Children of the American Revolution’s museum in Washington, DC and hope to have a virtual online tour in place by the end of the year,” said Vittoria after her installation on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Ms. Flick is also very excited that the National Theme for the 2015–2016 year is “Road to Independence,” and that she will be able to work with the Society’s National President, Erin Jackson from New Hampshire, on raising funds for the new Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.

The Children of the American Revolution is the oldest patriotic youth organization in the United States.
