South Brunswick Township Meeting on Compressor Gas Station
Come Tuesday night, prepared to ask questions in a public forum.

South Brunswick, NJ - The company that seeks to build a large natural gas compressor station on the Franklin-South Brunswick township line will be testifying Tuesday night, July 12, at the South Brunswick Township meeting, and will take open questions from residents.
The Williams Companies, based in Oklahoma, is looking to construct a 32,000-horsepower station on the Transco pipeline at the intersection of Promenade Blvd and Rt. 27. Residents say the pipeline will be very noisy, dangerous and will pollute the environment.
The community most affected would be Princeton Walk, sitting just 400 feet from the proposed 32,000-horsepower compressor. A spokesman for the company previously told Patch noise from the compressor station "will be no louder than a refrigerator," but residents remain skeptical.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the main meeting of the South Brunswick Township Municipal Building. Transco officials will present to the township and residents their plans, and answer questions. Williams is currently debating between building the station at the Rt. 27 site, or farther north in Franklin Township. The spokesman said: "Resident feedback does go into the selection of the site."
