South Brunswick Will Now See An Increase In Water, Sewer Utility Fees
The town council recently adopted the ordinance with the new fee structure, which will go into effect Aug. 14.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – During the last meeting, the town Council unanimously adopted an ordinance that will increase water and sewer utility charges in the township.
According to officials, the fees are being updated to keep up with rising prices and cover the costs to the township.
The township will increase the fee to install a cleanout on an owner's property from $2,575 to $2,800. Residents can pay this installation fee in full or in five installments of $560.

The charge for the township to install a curb area cleanout without the property owner's request has increased from $300 to $400. This can be paid in full or in three installments of $150.
For a water meter reading request, a property owner will now have to pay $50 instead of $30.

The charge for reinstallation of a meter will now be $55 instead of $35 for meters one inch in diameter or smaller, and for meters larger than one inch the base price is $55 for the first inch and $20 for each additional inch or fraction thereof.
When water is turned on or turned off from any premises due to a violation, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, a charge of $40 shall be added to the customer's account, instead of $25. If service is to be turned on or turned off after 3:30 p.m. or on weekends or holidays, a charge of $150 instead of $87 shall be added to the customer's account.
New water connection fee has increased from $575 to $2,800 for each connection, according to the ordinance.
The new changes will go into effect on Aug. 14.
