Summer Writing Program for Kids a Big Hit

City Kidz World Writing Studio Hosts Summer Writing Program in South Brunswick

City Kidz Kicks-Off Their Fun and Educational Summer Program at Sand Hills Community Wellness Center June 27th – August 17th

Kendall Park, NJ – July 1, 2016 – Summer is officially here, and although children are ready to take full advantage of the long relaxing days off from school, it’s crucial parents make summer learning a top priority. City Kidz World Writing Studio (CKW Studio) has launched their 3rd Annual Creative Writing and Language Arts Summer Program at the Sand Hills Wellness Center in Kendall Park from June 27th - August 17tt. This comprehensive program includes vocabulary enrichment, multiple types of writing assignments, reading, as well as grammar and punctuation. Learn more at: http://www.citykidzworld.com/.

A long summer break at home is not always the best for children’s learning. In fact, for some kids, a few months off can lead to major setbacks in school, including loss of knowledge and lowered test scores. Today, just under 10% of students nationwide participate in summer school. That means more than 90% of students in America will be at risk for potentially damaging summer learning loss.

The CKW Studio summer program is available three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 1:00 pm – 4:00pm. This unique organization delivers their summer program in a fun way, providing a daily, refreshing cold snack, nature walks, and a great opportunity to work on stories collaboratively with students of the same age. Teachers provide extensive and detailed feedback on all writing.

By the end of the summer, students will have a polished piece of writing to submit to the City Kidz World Literary Magazine, which is distributed across central and north Jersey to schools, libraries, and recreation centers. Students enjoy local notoriety when their work appears in the magazine.

About City Kidz World Studio: City Kidz World Writing Studio loves helping children develop a relationship with writing! Our commitment to that idea has led us to sponsor a tri-yearly children's literary magazine: City Kidz World magazine. There are many skills that can be developed with drill and skill worksheets or repetitive practice, but writing is not one of those skills. Our program uses a variety of methods to help students become accomplished writers.

Students come to the Writing Studio at least once a week to work with accomplished, language arts tutors. They complete various types of language arts and writing assignments over the weeks, months or years. All children who join our program have a transformative experience.
