South Brunswick police say they located the suspect's car in North Jersey and executed a search warrant in connection with the investigation this past Tuesday, Dec. 10. Detectives recovered items of mail linked to South Brunswick Township residents.

As Patch reported earlier this month, at 6:39 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, police were called to the Dayton post office (347 Georges Road) for a possible theft in progress. Officers searched the area for any suspects and discovered the mailbox had been pried open and several letters were still inside.

A witness told Officer Kent English that two individuals were observed walking around the post office attempting to make entry. They were later seen leaving the area northbound on Georges Road in an older model white car.

Then at 9:58 a.m. that same day, Dec. 1, Officer Aaron Parks responded to the Monmouth Junction Post Office (651 Ridge Road) for an additional damaged mailbox. A check of the area uncovered that the front mailbox was also pried open and empty. A witness said he saw a white sedan in area at 4:00 a.m.

While several victims have been named, South Brunswick Police are still asking for more to come forward.
