Torrential Rain, Hail Possible By 4:30 p.m. In Middlesex County
A line of strong thunderstorms is moving through Middlesex County Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

A line of strong thunderstorms is moving through Middlesex and Monmouth counties Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The strongest storms may bring torrential rainfall, pea-sized hail and wind gusts up to 40 mph.

The storms were also bringing frequent cloud to ground lightning.
Localized flooding could also occur, with rainfall of up to an inch an hour possible.

At 3:14 p.m. Tuesday, the line of scattered storms were along a line from Somerville to Stockton, and they were moving east at 20 mph.
By 4:30 p.m., the storms are expected to be in areas, including New Brunswick, South Brunswick, East Brunswick, Carteret, Perth Amboy, and Manalapan.
