Update: Photos Capture Strip Mall Crash In South Brunswick
Police said the driver hit two parked cars and drove the length of the sidewalk at the strip mall in South Brunswick Friday morning.
A vehicle crashed into a strip mall off of Route 522 in South Brunswick Friday morning, police said.
Around 9:50 a.m. Friday Ravi Narayanaswamy, 58, of North Brunswick lost control of his 2005 Lexus sport utility vehicle in the parking lot of Summerfield Center at the corner of Route 522 and Summerfield Boulevard, police said.
He was parked in front of the Bank of America when he mistakenly hit the gas, police said.

Capt. James Ryan said the driver hit two parked cars, and then jumped the curb and drove the length of the strip mall’s sidewalk. The vehicle hit the entrance to the Wine Gallery, continued on the sidewalk in front of the China Star Restaurant, hit the wall in front of Nails and Spa, and hit a support pillar in front of Giuseppe’s Pizza Restaurant, Ryan said.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle and speak with officers. He was unclear what caused him to lose control of the vehicle, police said. He was transported by South Brunswick EMS to Princeton University Hospital for treatment.

All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene at Summerfield Center.
No one else was injured.
South Brunswick Code Enforcement inspected the buildings and determined the mall was structurally sound. The driver was issued a summonses charging him with careless driving, police said.
