VIDEO: Gov. Christie Cuts Ribbon on New Coca-Cola Distribution Center in South Brunswick

The 226,000-square foot facility on Deans Rhode Hall Road will employ 500 to 600 workers.

Gov. Chris Christie joined with officials from the Coca-Cola Company, and South Brunswick Township Council members, for a ribbon cutting on a new 226,000-square foot facility in South Brunswick on Tuesday. The shipping and distribution center, located on Deans Rhode Hall Road, will employ 500 to 600 workers.

The South Brunswick facility consolidates the company's operations from Asbury Park, North Brunswick and Parsippany.

The LEED certified facility boasts numerous energy efficient features and uses 20 percent less energy than the standard for new buildings, according to a company press release. The building has insulated walls, lighting that operates on a motion sensor, water efficient plumbing and drought tolerant landscaping and vegetation.
