Wal-Mart, Tracy Morgan Settle Lawsuit Connected To Fatal Turnpike Crash

Wal-Mart has reportedly settled a lawsuit with Tracy Morgan and two other people who were injured in a crash last year.

Wal-Mart has settled a lawsuit with Tracy Morgan and two other people who were injured in a crash last year that involved one of the store’s trucks, according to published reports.

The terms of the settlement are confidential, according to Reuters.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reached an agreement with Morgan, Jeffrey Millea and Ardley Fuqua to settle a lawsuit over the June 7, 2014 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County, according to MarketWatch.

“Our thoughts continue to go out to everyone that was involved in the accident,” Wal-Mart U.S. Chief Executive Greg Foran. told MarketWatch. “While we know there is nothing that can change what happened, Walmart has been committed to doing what’s right to help ensure the well-being of all of those who were impacted by the accident.”

Reuters reported that Wal-Mart already settled with the children of James McNair, a comedian who was killed in the crash.

“Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families,” Morgan said in a statement, according to Bloomberg.com. “I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably.”

Morgan, McNair and the others were traveling in a limousine bus, on their way back from a performance in Delaware, when the crash occurred.
