5th Annual 24 Hours of Music Jamboree Adapted For Pandemic Times

I have been asked more than a few times about what's happening with this years 2021 24 Hours of Music Jamboree. Well happy to say the 5th Annual 24 Hours of Music Jamboree Weekend in 2021 is being adapted for our crazy, unknown, what's gonna happen next, pandemic times)

2020 4th Annual 24 Hours Of Music Jamboree - Lynette Sheard

First a Little History

In the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. here were 24 Hour Nonstop Live Music Performances from Noon Sat to 12 Noon Sunday held live in and Around South Orange NJ. First year of this purely voluntary event we ran a single stream of live music for 24 hours. In following yeas we ran concurrent performances for 12 hours at the South Orange Gazebo and at Spiotta Park along with various other locations around Around South Orange. We ended up with 30 plus hours of live music within 24 hours across multiple South Orange venues.

In 2020 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic we quickly pivoted and for the first time on May 30-31st we live streamed the 24 Hours of Music Jamboree over Facebook, YouTube, Twitched, Instagram and Twitter via Periscope. The livestream content consisted of a number of Broadcasted Live Performances, Pre Recorded Live Performances that were recorded just for this event and a selected number of high end Past Live Performances.

Musicians Go Round the World

Also note that in Pre Pandemic years, we had local musicians participate from our local towns along with musicians from the Greater New York and New Jersey area. We also ran a number of live music jams where anyone could come sit in and participate. Some musicians who used to perform live right here in South Orange were from other towns, States and countries like Korea, Japan, etc. The pandemic drove a number of folks back home and now with pandemic restrictions they can't travel however they still wanted to participate and so we adapt again.

The other item of note was the tribute to our fallen musician, bass player Darryl Clark, was canceled in July 2021 due to the weather. So we have rescheduled the event and making the 24 Hours of Music Jamboree, a tribute to Darryl Clark and a few more.

We started this event as a totally live and in person event, then we also live streamed some events and the pandemic forced us to go all online. Enter 2021 we are adapting our events for whatever our new normal is today. This year musicians can participate in person or online.

• We rescheduled some of the July rainout events to this weekend.
• Musicians can be broadcasted live
• Musicians can can submit their live recordings
• Musicians performances will be livestreamed online.
• 24 Hours of Music Jamboree will be conducted over 2 days 9/25 and 9/26.
• It will be two 10 or 12 hour days of live in-person events from Noon to 10PM (or midnight)
• Folks can submit live recordings that we stream live during overnight hours.

Pre Pandemic Event Description

24 Hours of Music From Noon Saturday Until Noon Sunday.

Join us for 24 Hours of Creating A Live Music Stream Across Our towns. Musicians of various musical genres from all over will come together and join in making music, having fun, all day, all night while supporting a good cause.

This 24 Hours of Music Jamboree is a Voluntary Event where you are invited to come on out and make Live Music for the 2020 Season. If you are interested in playing, it can be a half hour. an hour, 2 hours or help us out and play all night long. You let us know what you are thinking.

Invite your friends and neighbors and have an overnight party while you sing and dance wherever you are to some great music. All ideas and genres of music performances are a possibility.
