Armed Robbery on Clark St. Early Tuesday Morning

A 36-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint by two assailants wearing ski masks.

A 36-year-old man walking on Clark Street, near the intersection with West Montrose Avenue, was robbed at gunpoint at about 6:03 a.m. Tuesday.

Two individuals wearing ski masks reportedly jumped out of the bushes, armed with a shotgun, and demanded that the man turn over his cash. After he did, they fled north toward the Orange border, according to Police Chief James Chelel.

South Orange police are working with their counterparts from West Orange, since a similar incident took place by the towns' common border two days ago, according to Chief Chelel.

The perpetrators were described as black males, about 6 feet tall, wearing black jackets and black pants.
