Camp Maple—A Special Place to Spend Summer

Special needs children in South Orange and Maplewood School District enjoy this six-week program.

Camp Maple is a six-week program offered to children with special needs who reside in Maplewood and South Orange. The program, run by the Maplewood Recreation Department, provides opportunities for gross and fine motor development as well as cognitive and social growth. Bowling, swimming, a visit to the zoo, Imagine That and Funplex, are among the many fun activities campers get to enjoy. The program costs $600 and is based at Tuscan School in Maplewood.

These pictures come from two field trips—one to the bowling alley and another to Maplecrest Park to ride the ponies.
