See CHS in Action on Wednesday Night

Columbia High School will present a fun-filled event for prospective students and their parents.

Ever wanted to ride a hovercraft? Use a high-tech telescope to see the moon? Or be involved in a live broadcast of a television show? 

Columbia High School presents CHS-in-Action Night on April 18th from 6:30-9 p.m. at , 17 Parker Avenue. According to a release from the district, this Student Council sponsored event will give prospective students and parents an opportunity to learn about the vast array of clubs and activities that Columbia has to offer. All who attend will have the opportunity to meet club members, staff advisors and members of Columbia’s top-ranked sports teams.

Numerous groups will be performing including: Special Dance, Color Guard, Shakespeare Festival, MLK Gospel Choir, MLK Step Team, and Columbia’s sketch comedy group, Friday Night Live! Columbia Cable Network’s, P.M. News, will also do a live broadcast of its monthly show­­­ and everyone is invited to see the studio where the show takes place.

Meet the writers and designers of the national Gold Medalist award-winning student newspaper, The Columbian.  Find out how to become part of Diversity Rocks, Quiz Bowl, Amnesty International, Chess Club, the MLK Association, Math Club, the service clubs and the nationally acclaimed Guildscript (literary magazine), just to name a few of the more than 50 CHS clubs and teams.  Take the chance to climb to Columbia’s clock tower and peer at the moon with a high-tech telescope. 

Venture into the Cougar Café to take a ride on a hovercraft or see a live fencing demonstration. Also, see Columbia’s very own internationally award-winning robotics team in action and take a look at the fascinating work of students at the CHS Science Fair.
