Dismissed Seton Hall Minister Reveals He's Gay

Seton Hall University’s former director of campus ministry, Warren Hall – who recently claimed that the university fired him for supporting same-sex marriage on a social media post – has announced that he is gay. [See related Patch article]

Hall discussed his sexual identity in an Outsports report, telling a reporter:

“The best way to live is to live honestly… Honesty with oneself is the most important thing, but you have to be honest with other people.”

In the report, Hall stated that the Archbishop of Newark told him:

“None of us want bullying… but you have a further agenda here, and I can’t have you at Seton Hall because of that.”

The Archdiocese of Newark, which appoints Seton Hall’s director of campus ministry, has denied that Hall was fired because of his support for same-sex marriage.
