Update: Early Morning Car Accident on Mayhew Drive
Car Reportedly Traveling at High Speed Flips Several Times, Driver Sustained Severe Injuries.

The South Orange Police Department’s traffic bureau is investigating a single-car accident that took place overnight.
According to police and fire officials, the car flipped over several times, landing on its side in front of 186 Mayhew Drive at approximately 1:30 a.m.
The driver, whose name was not released, was ejected "half-way" through the windshield of his car, according to South Orange Police Chief Jeff Markey. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark with severe injuries. His condition is unknown. No other injuries were reported.

Mayhew Drive resident Matt Peyton described walking out of his house at 3 a.m. to view the scene. According to Peyton, a team of “at least 40 people” were investigating the accident scene.
