Eden Gourmet Opens Cafe

Foodie paradise Eden Gourmet held a soft launch of its second floor cafe on the first Saturday of 2009.

Open 11am - 9pm, the cafe serves brick-oven pizza (9" or 16"), pasta and salads—including the create-your-own variety.

According to management, the menu is in its final form, but Eden Gourmet wanted to make sure the staff was fully trained before the official launch about 30 days from now.

"We really wanted to have all our South Orange customers come in and have a bite to eat while we work out the kinks," said marketing manager Lia Battista.

The cafe has a small patio that will open in the spring and is adjacent to the main dining hall, where a full-service restaurant will open sometime between March and May, Battista said. Eden Gourmet is still in the process of trying to obtain a liquor license for the restaurant.
