Second Annual Building The Bench Breakfast is This Thursday, April 20th

Assemblywoman Mila Jasey will speak at Emerge New Jersey’s Second Annual Building The Bench Breakfast this Thursday, April 20, 2017. The premier political training organization will host its event at the New Jersey Education Association office on 180 West State Street in Trenton, New Jersey
“I am honored to have been invited to serve as a panelist at Emerge New Jersey’s Building the Bench event taking place on Thursday in Trenton,” said Assemblywoman Mila Jasey. “The level of enthusiasm and activism that I have seen women of all ages engage over the past months is gratifying. I have spoken at women-centered events large and small and the question most often asked is about the path to involvement and ways to make a difference.”
Emerge New Jersey’s work in the Garden State has made a significant difference, with more than 40 Democratic women successfully completing the political training program. Many of which, have gone onto elected office, such as Essex County Freeholder Board Vice President Britnee Timberlake, Hillside Councilwoman-at-Large Diane Murrary, Madison Borough Councilwoman Maureen Byrne and others across the state.

“Emerge New Jersey’s greatest benefits, and indeed there are many, is that it serves as a vehicle for interested women, especially young women, to meet and share their thoughts and ideas about how they can make a difference by serving in elected office. Once they opt in, Emerge New Jersey stands ready to provide the knowledge, tools and support that empower women candidates to run and win,” said Assemblywoman Jasey.
The Second Annual Building The Bench Breakfast will begin at 8am with opening remarks delivered by U.S. Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, a long-time supporter of Emerge New Jersey. Thereafter, a political power panel with Assemblywoman Jasey and other prominent New Jersey female legislators will take place. Followed by Emerge New Jersey honoring the states female movers and shakers with its "Bench Builder" award for their Democratic efforts.
