20th-Century Irish Immigration to the US

Seton Hall University’s Pirates of Irish Persuasion & Extraction (PIPE) will sponsor a program on 20th-century Irish immigration to the US.  Dr. Linda Dowling Almeida, author of Irish Immigrants in New York City, 1945-1995 and an expert on Irish immigration to the US, will give a presentation on the changes in Ireland during the 20th century that precipitated the waves of immigration in the ‘20s, ‘50s, ‘80s, and at the turn of the 21st century.  The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30pm in the Beck Rooms of Walsh Library on Seton Hall’s South Orange campus.
