This class focuses on landscape painting from a number of vantage points and is rooted in the notion that for many, landscape painting has been relegated to the realm of the decorative and that there is remarkable room for expression built into the choice of landscape as subject. The course explores plein air painting (revisiting the modernist tendencies of the impressionists), painting from photographs (exploring the idea that a paradox exists in representational painting, and painting from drawings.
