Straight from the streets of Newark, Mean Gene and The Love Machine cover a wide range of styles from the R&B of Bill Withers to the rock of Jimmy Hendrix and Cream. They were the headliners at The Heading to Halsey Halloween Festival in 2011 and spent the summer prior playing in and around Newark. The band features Hat City’s own James Lockhart (guitar, vocals), MC of the famed Thursday Night Jam, Chris Mongiello (guitar), and Mean Gene Cooper (bass). The night will be on fire with a hot sound that will scorch your ears all night long.
