The Pierro Gallery at the Baird will host the exhibition, Artists Who Teach: Baird Teaching Artists 2011 from Saturday September 10- Sunday October 16. The opening celebration is conveniently scheduled at 2pm for the same day as the open house. Visitors to the Baird Arts Open House can check out their potential teachers’ classroom style as well as their creative work.
Ms. Martiny has been meeting with teaching artists throughout the course of the spring and the summer to learn more about their passions and how they express themselves artistically and through their teaching practice. “Not all artists are teachers, but some of the best teachers are artists. I’m excited by the high level of achievement and commitment these particular artists have to both their art and their students. I’m honored to celebrate their accomplishments through this exhibition.”
