Pizza and a Dream: Feeding the Dream Within You!

ATTN: Girls in 7th and 9th grade and their female caregivers.

The Essex County Chapter of Soroptimist International in connection with Marylawn of the Oranges Academy and GALS are hosting Pizza and a Dream – Feeding the Dream Within You! on Friday, October 19 at Marylawn of the Oranges Academy located in South Orange.

This program for 7^th – 9^th grade girls and their female caregivers invites participants to learn how to have healthy relationships, develop their life plan and use social media effectively.

There is a keynote speaker and multiple workshops to choose from for both the adolescents and the adults that include:

 Adolescent Workshops:

• Healthy Relationships (dating violence, communicating with your parent)


• Bullying (coping skills)


• Developing your life-plan (typical pitfalls & barriers – sex, substance use, peer pressure)


• Using Social Media (Internet safety, etiquette)

 Adult Workshops:

• Healthy relationships at any age (power struggle)


• Community Supports


• Setting goals


• Getting your teen to listen to you

Registration: $5 (includes pizza, beverage)
