Learning about China from the headlines has its drawbacks. A country of 1.3 billion people in an area the size of China is hard to categorize. Michael Levy spent two years of Peace Corps service teaching English in Guizhou University in central China. His memoir of his time in China, Kosher Chinese, was chosen by Barnes & Noble as the best book by a new writer in 2011. Please join us to get the behind-the-headlines look at the Chinese and their ever-important country.   

This evening honors Robert U. Redpath, a distinguished former trustee of the Adult School, in whose memory a fund has been established to provide an annual program highlighting his interest in language and communications.
