Registration: So You Want to Be An Entrepreneur?

The South Orange-Maplewood Adult School is offering classes to help you find ways to let your inner entrepreneur shine, including how to build a fun and profitable home-based business, electronic medical billing, children's book publishing, and voice overs.

Regardless of the home-based company you choose, James W. Farham, author and speaker, will teach skills and activities that, step by step, will lay out what it takes to earn more money and have more fun. The class costs $45 and will be Saturday, April 24, 12 -3 p.m. at Columbia High School.

Children's book author and illustrator Irene Kelly will help you demystify how the children's book publishing world works. Aspiring authors will learn how to navigate the process, offering insight on editors, publishers, proposals and more. The class costs $35 and will be Wednesday, April 28, 7:30-9 p.m. at South Orange Middle School.

Have you been told you have a great voice? You may want to pursue the lucrative voice-over field. Learn how to deliver advertising copy like a pro and make your own radio commercial. Discover who casts the media spots, how to get on their lists, and numerous other tips. The class is taught by Dave Munro, voice-over artist. The cost is $60. It will held on two Saturdays, March 20 and March 27, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at Columbia High School.

Electronic Medical Billing is considered one the 10 best-home based businesses. This is a service provided to doctors who file claims electronically for Medicare and insurance payment. Merlin Coslick, a national consultant, presents the class and a certification series for the Adult School. The overview ($49) is Saturday, March 27, 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m., for $49. The certification series ($145) runs for three Saturdays, April 17-May 1, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., both at Columbia High School.
