The South Orange Public Library will present a film series beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 25th, at 7 p.m. The theme of the fall series is “The Absurdity of War,” and each film will offer a commentary on war and its perpetrators through humor or satire. Each film screening will be followed by a discussion led by a film expert. “The Great Dictator” starring Charlie Chaplin will be the first to be presented, with discussion facilitated by John Columbus, founder and director of the Black Maria Film Festival. All are welcome and refreshments will be served.
Other films in the series include “Dr. Strangelove and How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” on November 29 and “Life is Beautiful” on December 27.
