Newark’s Forest Hill Historic District is proud to host it’s 7th Newark PorchFest, a celebration of community arts on Saturday, September 19th (rain date Sunday, the 26th), with KidsFest at 11am-12:30pm and PorchFest at 12-6pm.
Organized by the Forest Hill Community Association, our FREE family-friendly event will have residents from the neighborhood make their porches available to serve as community stages for performing and visual artists of all styles and genres. The entertainment kicks off at 11am with KidsFest, a lively fun-filled hour of kid-friendly activities and entertainment featuring a wonderful performance of THE UGLY DUCKLING by members of THE NEW JERSEY SYMPHONY CHAMBER PLAYERS, sponsored by the TD Charitable Foundation. At 12pm PorchFest begins, and attendees will be invited to experience this entertainment-filled neighborhood as well as a wide array of food trucks.
