Fire at Page Terrace Home on Tuesday Evening

The fire started in the kitchen but was quickly extinguished; no one was injured.

The fire department responded to a 911 call from 432 Page Terrace on Tuesday at 6:43 p.m., reporting a house on fire.

Firefighters observed a smoky condition on the first floor of the two-story wood frame house, and the two occupants were standing outside.

The fire was found behind the stove in the kitchen, and burning debris was extinguished. The remaining debris was taken outside from behind the stove and fully extinguished, and smoke was cleared out with mechanical fans.

Fire damage was sustained to the stove and the wall behind the stove, and there was smoke damage to the first floor. The owner was advised not to use the stove until a service technician came to inspect it.

The origin of the fire was determined to be between the stove and the wall in the kitchen, and the cause—determined to be accidental—was combustible materials in close proximity to heat produced by the stove.

All units departed the scene at 7:07 p.m.
