Fishin' For a Mate? A Local Offers Help

Marnie Fish looking to help people get together with fishnfor.com

Are you a single man or woman between 20 and 30 years of age? A prominent local is hoping to help people get together.

Marnie Fish, known in Springfield’s community for her work with the and her atch, has helped launch a new matchmaking website.

The site, Fishnfor.com, was launched this summer, and the site is starting small. They’re only taking on referrals for friends and friends of friends. The numbers are short of what sites like Match.com and eHarmony traffic in, but the advantage is the focus and attention Fishnfor’s team of matchmakers can bring to their clients.

Fish, who met her fiance online, described the site as a personalized matchmaking service. She said it offers an in-depth look at your profile and suggests people who are compatible, unlike other websites that ask you to scour profiles.

“We have dating specialists who studied sociology and psychology to help you with anything, including a resident dude for all the guys questions,” Fish said in an email.

She added that her service isn't just for straight folks looking to pair up; Fish said FishnFor will work "guys, girls and gays" equally well.

Psychology and sociology aren’t the only field they offer expertise in. The site's "Let's Chat" section dishes knowing advice on topics like drinking on a date and places to go for first encounters. Their style blog has suggestions on looking your best, and the FishnFor team can even get more up close and personal, if needed.

"We also have a stylist who can help you find the perfect dating outfit,” Fish said. ”For a small fee you can have her meet you for the day and redo your wardrobe.”

Considering the service’s name, it’s no surprise that the organizers know the old adage about there being more fish in the sea. Their service takes into account the hit or miss nature of dating life, and lets you cast several lines.

If you don't like someone we've sent you, you may request to be sent back into the ‘dating pond’ if you are happy, then we'll "hook you up" and connect you,” Fish said. “You will be removed from the service upon request. We are NOT responsible for any dating therapy bills!"
