Giorgio's Owners Shoot to Reopen in 3 Weeks

The restaurant space, last occupied by Voro, is currently being renovated.

First open on Vose Avenue in 1989 and gone for the past four years while Voro occupied its space, Giorgio's may reopen in three weeks' time, if the owners have their way.

"We already have a party booked in October," said Janet Joseph, who co-owns the building at 52 Vose Ave. with her husband Giorgio, who will once again do the cooking. She noted that they hadn't intended to close Giorgio's four years ago but then received an offer from Voro's former owner.

Specializing in fine Italian cuisine and catering, Janet Joseph says they'll be adding lighter fare, like salads, sandwiches and paninis, to cater to a lunch crowd. They're currently working to restore the restaurant's former decor, including its chandelier, and taking out the vestiges of Voro's nightclub style. The workmen are focused on painting and putting in granite, tile and marble.

According to Joseph, they won't be seeking a liquor license, and Giorgio's has always been a BYOB.

After Voro closed, the building had a listing with RE/MAX for about three months and was up for sale and for rent.
