Saxophonist Alex Desrivieres

Alex Desrivieres is an up and coming saxophonist, composer, and woodwind doubler. He has worked as a performer on Norwegian Cruise Lines, at Dutch Wonderland amusement park, and was featured as a “Rising Star” at the COTA Jazz Festival.

Alex knew he would continue to be a musician when at a young age one of his heroes would inexplicably appeared and offer encouraging words. Never giving up, he continues to hone his craft and learn as if he were to live forever. It is this idea of always moving forward that led to the creation of his debut album, “May the Sun Never Set.”

Although jazz is his primary musical outlet, Alex has explored the music of video games, film, pop, and world music for inspiration. He studied music at Kean University where he graduated Cum Laude with a major in Music Performance with an emphasis in Pedagogy and a minor in Chinese Studies. When working on the Norwegian Sun, a cruise ship, as a member of the Showband, Alex made it an important point to utilize any spare time to explore the many ports of call and enrich his cultural understanding. The environment led him to work with musicians from all over the world, each bringing with them something special for Alex to learn.

Alex continues to explore his musical horizons exploring new genres and sounds with his current project “Harmonic Convergence”, a group with many of the same members of his first quartet but with a new philosophy of exploring and combining timbres, rhythms, harmonic devices from various styles of music.

Based out of New Jersey, has performed for us in South Orange, Newark Cranford and many places around North Jersey for us. https://www.alleycatsax.com/

Vocalist Destiny Autumn

Vocalist Destiny Autumn is a professional musician, songwriter and performer based in the New York metropolitan area, who writes and sings from the heart to the hearts and souls of the people. She began her musical journey studying classical piano and voice, and then expanded her palette to various other genres. One of these included jazz, which she obtained her undergraduate degree in, from Indiana University: Jacob School of Music.

Throughout her career, Destiny has had the opportunity to perform along stage with world renowned artists such as Darmon Meader, Roseanne Vitro, Nadine Herman, Tierney Sutton, Bobby McFerrin, John Raymond, Jeremy Fox and many more.

Destiny strongly believes that music is an remarkably powerful force that brings people together. “Music has such a fascinating ability of healing even the darkest wounds that lie in our inner psyche. It transcends past language, color, and background and unites us in ways that seem unimaginable. Humans and our life experiences are full of so much color. I hope, like a fine artist, I bring out the beauty in the shadows and light of our journey. I want my music and performances to tell a story, that in the end, brings out everlasting joy.” https://destinyautumnmusic.com...

Drummer Eric Dupont

Drummer Eric Dupont was born and raised in New Hampshire, receiving his first drum set at the age of 12. Beginning to seriously hone his craft in high school, he earned titles as the NHMEA Jazz All-State drummer and recipient of the Woody Herman Jazz Award. His work as his school’s Drumline captain, jazz band drummer, and wind symphonic band percussionist led him to performances as far as New York, Florida, Canada, Germany, and Austria.
Eric initially studied European classical percussion with Jeff Fischer at the University of Massachusetts in 2012, while studying drum set privately with Boston legend Fred Buda. In 2013, Eric transferred to the jazz program at William Paterson University on music scholarship – he graduated magna cum laude in 2016 as the Outstanding Musician Award recipient, with a major in Jazz Studies and Music Management. With the school’s close proximity to New York City, Eric has been fortunate enough to study under the tutelage of such drum heavyweights as Billy Hart, Winard Harper, Horacee Arnold and Bill Goodwin. https://www.ericdupontdrums.co...

Pianist Oscar Lee Williams II

Pianist Oscar Lee Williams II was born in Ruleville, Mississippi and grew up predominantly in Kansas City, Missouri. While in Kansas City, Oscar began to develop his style informed by the important aspects of old gospel, blues, and funk. Oscar applies all of these influences in his conception of the jazz style. Some great artists he has the fortune to perform with include: Bobby Watson, Curtis Lundy, Joe Chambers, Jeff Watts, Bill Goodwin, Bob Durough, Marion Cowings, and Vincent Herring, through which has he gained the attention of and currently is a member of two groups, Gene Perla's-"The Gene Machine", and the Wallace Roney Quintet. In 2012, he began a rare apprenticeship with the, now late, pianist Mulgrew Miller. Though his time with the legendary pianist was brief, the effects of the relationship are bound to be everlasting. When asked to reflect on his experiences, Oscar graciously relays, "The journey has hardly begun". https://www.yardbirdent.com/po...

Bassist Masaaki Saito

Masaaki Saito is an upcoming upright/electric bassist situated in New Jersey. He started his musical journey at the age of 13 when picking up the guitar. His love of music started with the archetypical story of playing rock music in his bedroom and playing in a band with his friends. The enjoyment of improvising from early influences like BB King and the Allman Brothers Band transitioned into jazz when he decided to become serious about trying to make a living as a musician. He went to Montclair State University where he studied with Dave Stryker. That was when he also picked up the upright bass, initially out of curiosity, but as more opportunities came up it became his primary instrument. While still at Montclair State University, he studied bass with Bill Moring. Since graduating in 2017, he has worked as a freelance musician playing in variety of settings ranging from clubs, restaurants and weddings. He continues to hone his craft and has been fortunate for the opportunities that have come by and excited for what may come in the future.
