Healthcare Foundation of NJ Awards JVS and JFS with Grant to Provide Home Health Aide Training
Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest NJ and Jewish Family Service of Central NJ Partner to Offer Comprehensive Training Program
Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest NJ (JVS) recently announced that it has received a $20,000 grant from the Healthcare Foundation of NJ. The grant allows JVS and its partner agency, Jewish Family Service of Central NJ (JFS), to offer a comprehensive state certified Home Health Aide (HHA) training program which will be available this spring through the Union County Consortium.
“We take pride in our staff of compassionate caregivers who provide the elderly community with companionship, while helping them live both safely and independently during a vulnerable time,” said Addy Bonet, CEO of JVS. “We look forward to working with JFS to utilize this generous grant and fill the demanding need for well-trained homecare providers.”
Classes will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays from April 24th to May 18th at JFS’ Elizabeth-based facility located at 655 Westfield Avenue. Upon completion of the training, students will have acquired the knowledge and skills required by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing to become certified home health aides.
