'Jewish Christmas' Movie Screening In South Orange Sunday

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The musical comedy "Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas" is set for the Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI) Sunday at 7 p.m. Producer Liam Romalis will facilitate a discussion about the movie as part of the program, which includes the Jewish/Irish short film, “Hannah Cohen’s Holy Communion.” Refreshments will be served.

Set almost entirely in a Chinese restaurant, “Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas” is an irreverent musical documentary about a group of Jewish songwriters— including Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, Jay Livingston, Ray Evans, Gloria Shayne Baker and Johnny Marks—who have written and performed some of the most memorable Christmas songs. The film has been nominated for a 2018 International Emmy award.
