Come to this special rehearsal where you can meet the conductors, staff and other musicians in the longest running youth orchestra in New Jersey. Bring your instrument and a great attitude, and experience a rehearsal with some of the most talented musicians in the area.
RSVPs required by Thursday January 22 as space is limited. Please see the groups below and let us know which you would like to join for rehearsal. This is a fun and low pressure way to check out our orchestras; if you wish to join, auditions can be scheduled after the event. We rehearse weekly at South Orange Middle School.
Monday January 26:
Junior Symphony Orchestra (middle school - classical symphony)( All instruments welcome; sorry, no percussion) 4- 5:30 pm
ABC (Anything But Classical) Ensemble: middle-high school jazz/improvisational group (Strings, brass and woodwinds: especially trumpets and saxophone welcome. Sorry, no trombone, lower horns, percussion or keyboard) 5:30 - 7 pm
Essex County Symphony Orchestra: high school, classical symphony orchestra. (all instruments except percussion welcome) 7 -9 pm
Wednesday Jan 28:
Overture Ensemble (elementary school)(all instruments welcome: strings, woodwind, brass.) 5-6:30 pm
