Morning Fire on Prospect Place Quickly Extinguished
The fire was started by smoking materials left in a pile of construction debris.
The Fire Department responded to an alarm at 122 Prospect Pl. on Monday morning at 10:10 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters discovered a pile of debris burning against the side of the home.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and ascertained that it hadn't spread to the interior of the house.
A subsequent investigation ruled that the fire was accidental and determined that it had been started by smoking materials left in the pile of discarded construction debris.
