Motorcycle Stolen In South Orange

A test drive of the bike turned into a theft, police said.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - A man took a motorcycle for a really long test drive, so long the bike was reported stolen, according to the South Orange Police Department.

According to authorities, a South Stanley Road resident reported that at approximately 3:25 p.m. he met with a subject who was interested in buying a blue and white Yamaha YZ 125 dirt bike-type motorcycle he was selling.

The prospective buyer took the dirt bike for a test drive down the street and was last seen heading east on South Orange Avenue, police said. The rider never returned with the motorcycle.

The victim described the man as a black male in his 20's and approximately 5'10" in height and 160 lbs. He was wearing a gray down coat, blue jeans and Lebron James sneakers.

The incident remains under investigation.
